Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1
Aim: Create the rib for the Centre console coin holder considering the design rules.

Tooling Axis:
Tooling direction is the main consideration for plastic parts and mold parts because it defines the movement of the mold part and the possibility of the plastic part coming out from the mold part (Core and Cavity).
check all optional ways to clear tooling direction with respect to the plastic part structure. The tooling axis plays a very crucial role in plastic part manufacturing with optimal cost. in the process of tooling, the axis creation bisecting method is used.

Ribs: Ribs are a feature in plastic injection molded parts. They are thin extensions that run perpendicular from a wall or plane. They are commonly used to provide additional support and strength to a part.
Thickness and location are essential to rib design. Here are some helpful design guidelines:
- They should be designed with a thickness that is ½ the wall thickness to avoid a thick section at the wall base
- To minimize sink marks, design ribs that are approximately 60% of the joining wall thickness for minimum risk
- Best practices include spacing at a distance of at least twice the wall thickness
- Glossy materials require a thinner rib (40% of wall thickness).
steps to create ribs:
- select the proper location of the part(here - Coin holder) where the ribs are really essential.
- extract the surface of the coin holder.
- create a line on extract surfface by position sketch feature & give dimensions according to plan.
- extrude the line in surface workbench & use thicken feature to increase thickness of surface in part workbench.
- apply Draft & fillet feature to the ribs.

Design Considerations for Rib:
- Thickness(t) = 2.5mm
- Rib thickness = 0.4 * t ---- 1 mm
- Rib height = 5t ----- 12.5 mm
- draft given to rib = 0.5 degrees
- fillet given to rib = 0.25 mm
- Rib root thickness = ø 2.686 mm
- distance between ribs are generally 2:1 preferred & 3: 1 is considered in this rib design
