Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1

Thickness of the body here is 2.5mm

Rib initial sketch

Extrude

Height of rib should be

t * 5 = 2.5 * 5 = 12.5mm

Thicken

Thickness of rib should be

t * 0.4 = 2.5 * 0.4 = 1mm

Draft

Minimum draft degree should be 0.5

Adding to main body

Fillets

Fillets should be 0.25mm (optional)

Making intersection

Tri-tangent circle creation

Also, top edge of rib should be at least 0.75mm

Making 2nd rib

2nd rib should be at a particular distance apart from the first. This distance is found out by

Y / X < 3, where Y is the height of rib and X is the distance between the 2 ribs.

Here. it is 12.5 / X < 3, therefore X = 4.166, rounded off to 5mm.

But we are giving the distance as 6 because we have not considered thick body here.

Here we can see that the distance between 2 ribs has come out to be 5, which is the desired distance.
