Week- 8 - Solid meshing

Aim :
To mesh the rearview mirror using 2d and 3d elements
Using tetra elements to mesh the volumes

Component : Rear view mirror

Quality criteria :

S.No Quality Criteria Value

1 Target/Average length 1

2 Minimum Length 0.5

3 Maximum Length 2

Tetra Elements Mesh volumes

S.No Quality Criteria Value

1 Tet collapse 0.2

Procedure :

Steps 1

The geometry is taken separarte parts from pid
Used topo for double cons length perimeter and macro for resolution
Orient command is used and geometry check is done to improve it
The geometry is worked for meshing after geometry checks

Steps 2

The Quality parameteres and Tetra elements mesh are given
In mesh parameters ortho tria options is used
Then separate parts are meshed the meshes formed ortho tria
check for off elements reconstruction and smooth option is used to improve

Steps 3
Then used the volume mesh option define ok was used
Then under Unstructured mesh Tetra Rapid and Tetra Fem is used to mesh
It is done for all the parts separate pid is auto created for 2d and 3d elements

Learning outcomes :

Quality criteria is obtained for Tet collapse
2D meshing was done using ortho trias
3D meshing was done under volumes under structred Tetra rapid and Tetra Fem is used

Conclusion :
Rear view mirror is meshed by using 2D and 3 D elements in by ortho trias and Tetra Rapid or Tetra FEM the complete file is attached for reference
