Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design
Aim :- To create the Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
Given Data :-
Thickness of the component = 2.5 mm
CLASS A SURFACE -

CREATION OF TOOLING AXIS -
For creating tooling axis , I have extract base flat surafce and take normal line to it.

DRAFT ANALYSIS RESULT ON CLASS A SURFACE -

From above draft analysis we noticed that all surfaces of class A are ejectable from mould cavity.
CREATION OF CLASS B SURFACE -
While creating class B ,I have divide this Class A surface in Base , Bin Wall ,Top Wall and Flange Wall. For this I have extracted Surfaces from Class A then Offseted that to 2.5mm. Then I have did Surface operation like Untrim ,extrapolation , Trim and get final surface.

CREATION OF CLASS C SURFACE -
For creating class C surface , I have used swept with reference surface. For that I have extracted outer surfaces and boundary from class A.

FINAL SURFACE BODY -
By using Join and Trim operation on class A, B and C we get final surface body of coin holder.

SOLID BODY OF COIN HOLDER -
By using Close Surface feature we get solid body of coin holder from surface body.

From above draft analysis we noticed that Class A surface side is in green colour means all faces of this side drafted at an angle more than provided minimum draft angle (here 3 degree), And Class B side surface are blue in colour which means there is negative draft.
From above draft analysis we say that our product is ejectable from mould cavity.
