Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design

REPORT :
The draft analysis process is done to make sure that an appropriate draft is provided to the core part of the machine component. Draft is a taper or a small tilt applied to the faces of the automotive part that prevents it from being parallel to the motion of mold opening which ultimately prevents the part from getting damaged when it is ejected out of the mold.A minimum of 3 degree tilt or draft should be provided to each phase of the automotive component as a standard measure. This is ensured by draft analysis.
For carrying out draft analysis, a reference axis should be created which lies at the centre of the straight simple phases present in the automotive component. We are using a reference axis, a point, line and extract feature to extract boundary and after that create a sketch which can be used later for making bisecting line. This bisecting line is the " Tooling axis" which is later used to sweep and make the class C surface. Finally, draft analysis is performed on class A surface and on the final component which is obtained using the joining and trimming of class A, class B and class C surfaces.Hence, a detailed and productive analysis can be done using draft analysis feature.
