Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design
Challenge Report (week 8 ch1)
Tooling axis:
- Checked for the feasibility of tooling axis along x, y, z axes.
- Z axis has been selected as tooling direction.
- Created a dummy tooling axis along the large hole.
- Created an extended line along the direction of the line of concern.
- Created a bisecting line along those lines.
- Using the draft analysis tool, placed the axes aligning to the obtained bisecting line (tooling axis).
- Identified the surfaces which might cause the problem in removal.
- Created a tooling axis with respect to the class A
- Performed draft analysis using the draft analysis tool.
- Created a dummy tooling axis orthogonal to class A.
- Using the picking tool inside draft analysis, checked for the draft angle on the class A surface.
Created a separate geometrical set by the name B Surface.
- Created 2 ribs without fillet and offset at 2.5mm
- Created inclined surface and base surface and offset them at 2.5mm
- Applied fillets at different places as required.
- Rename the last command as the B Surface.
[note: all the surfaces had to be extrapolated for proper trimming]
Created a separate geometrical set by the name C Surface.
- Created a boundary for sweep
- Swept the contour of the surface at 3 degrees draft angle.
- Swept the holes separately at 3 degrees draft angle.
Joined the class A and class C surfaces. Later trimmed it with the B surface.
Then in part workbench, given it a closed solid.
