Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design
BASE BRACKET CAT PART

The solid part is inside the "PART BODY".
REPORT ON TOOLING AXIS CREATION
The tooling axis is the direction in which the mold(cavity and core) move in order to clear the part from the mold.It is primarily in the x,y and z axis directions. To determine this is very important before working on class A surfaces. Also we need to make sure to sect an tooling axis perpendicular to flat surfaces and holes for easy cost friendly clearance of the part. Once a direction is selected create a dummy tooling axis.
Later, check out the planes and fillets and see how many of them can be cleared by the tooling axis. For ones which are doubtful create an intersect in order to get the lines of theClass A surface which may cause problems in clearance. Now extend such lines. Now create a bisecting line with these extended lines as input and select it.This is the tooling axis.If there are no problems, the dummy tooling axis should be overlapping the Original Tooling Axis.
