Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design
1. All the sketches has been created under geomatrical sketch.
2. To make close body Close surface features has been used.
3. Thickness is 2.5 mm.
4. Screenshot in different views has also been attached.
4. Report on Tooling Axix by bisecting line method & Draft analysis.
The draft allows the part to easily eject from the mould. The Draft angle is provided to to reduce friction between core, cavity & part & also avoid in between damages. The most common draft angle is 3 degree in Plastic mold design.
Tooling Axix - Tooling Direction is the main element to consider while designing a plastic component. In the mouling machine this axix is the direction in which the core & cavity opens.
--> Procedure for Tooling Axix Creation:-
i) See the conectivity first between thte surfacess by using join option & ensure that no surface gaps inbetween the component.
ii) We can also check the connectivity by using Boundary option & ensure the same.
iii) Create a point by using point type circle/sphere/ellipse command & create a dummy Axix through that point in z direction.
iv) Taka a Plane in YZ direction, offset it at the point & then intersect it to create a intersecting plane.
v) Now by using point - point line method create lines and bisect the line by refering the dummy axix. to create the main Toling Axix.
--> Procedure for Draft Analysis:-
i) After creating the Tooling Axix, Class A B C surfaces Go to view mode and ensure that the object is in customize view parameter mode and also ensure that only material element is checked in Shading.
ii) Now click on compass & drag it to allign it on the main tooling axix & click the lock key to lock the compass here.
iii) NOw click on the object to see the draft analysis.
iv) The colour chart indicates the various conditions of the draft angle. The green colour indicats that the the part passes & can be used for the further operations.
v) By using analysis under the running point icon we can check the draft angle at the various surface of the component.
