To perform the Morphing Technique on the Sheet Metal component.

OBJECTIVE:

To perform the morphing technique on the sheet metal component.

PROCEDURE:

• Initially import the model into ANSA19.0.1.
• The surface is not stitched together as you can understand it by seeing the red cons over all the surfaces.
• So, to stitch the surfaces perform topo operation.

• Then, run the geo check to see the geometrical errors present in the model.
• After clearing all the errors run the geometry check again to confirm all the errors in the model are cleared.

• Then move on to morphing deck by clicking the morphing deck which is present on the Modules tab.
• It can be checked by seeing Morphing active command displaying on the right end of the working space area.
• Initially create a box on the geometry/faces which is needed to be morphed.
• To create a box use BOXES> NEW. The box can be created for both Cad and FE models.

• The box, then created can be moved in any direction which is needed for the requirement.
• Inside the box, if you right-click, you can get a local coordinates symbol in which you can able to find which direction it needs to be moved.
• Use Box Morphing > Move and generate a local coordinate and select the node which is needed to move and move the face by dragging. And then you find that the selected face got moved to the desired location.

• The box can be split into many numbers by using the split option in the boxes menu under which the user cut option can be used to creat the cut.
• After performing all the desired operations required for improvement, the box can be deleted by using the delete option under the box tab.

CONCLUSION:

• All the basic techniques in morphing are Tried effectively.
• A new design pattern is achieved by using the existing Cad.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

• By using the same geometry of the existing vehicle, a new vehicle pattern can be achieved more precisely within a short period of time.
• There are many instances in which this technique is used in the automobile industry. one such is that the honda brio hatchback model is converted into a sedan of Honda amaze by using the morphing technique. Similarly, like Toyota Etios liva is converted into Etios of sedan version.
