Week 7 State of charge estimation

EV LIVE BATCH 2021

1) TEST CASE 1

It is been observed from the plot that the vehicle is intially in the driving state, also charging was done till 90 percentage. After the charging process we reaches the standby mode, which is ploted in scope output. The battery voltage was increased to 4.2v while charging. The current plot shows the value of current that supplies to the vehicle while driving. Then the soc was observed to decrease around 50%.

TEST CASE 2

It was observed from the plot that the battery discharge completely and the vehicle does not go forward and charging state was not achieved at 10000 seconds. Thus the vehicle comes to standby condition and simulation.

TEST CASE 3

From the plot it can be seen that the battery starts charging and the SOC starts increasing from the beginning to around 2000 seconds and stays stable at 100 percentage and continuously from 2000 seconds. The peak current plot drops from 0 to 2000 seconds.

2)

The coulomb counting method measures the discharging current of a battery and intergration the discharging current over time in order to estimate soc.Coulomb counting method is done to estimate the soc, which is estimated from the discharging current and previously estimated soc value.

This system carries out the estimation by coulomb counting equation. The main advantage of coulomb counting is that of its simplicity and low computational cost. Temperature and current are taken as input from the battery.
