PROCEDURE –
- Examine the component for any distortion present on it. Totally the hood component has 5 parts.
- The mid-surface has been extracted for each component separately and then the geometry cleanup is done for each component separately.
- After cleaning the geometry the mesh is done using the auto mesh option for each component separately.
- Then the quality index is checked for each component.
- Wherever there is a element failure it is optimized using the clean up tool option.
- However in some difficult areas where it is difficult to capture the area geometry element size error occurs.
- Repeat the above few steps for each and every component of the hood.
- After completing the mesh, properties and thickness are assigned to the component.
Mid-Surfaces of all the components of the Hood
Meshed Surfaces of all the components of the Hood
Quality check of the whole component
Final View of the hood component
RESULT – The hood component was fully meshed in accordance with the quality criteria and thickness was assigned.
