Week 6- Challenge
OBJECTIVE
The Hood model is to be meshed with the below-mentioned quality criteria and assign thickness.
Target Element Length = 5mm
| S.N | Quality Criteria | Value |
| 1 | Aspect Ratio | 5 |
| 2 | Skewness | 45 |
| 3 | Warping | 15 |
| 4 | Taper | 0.5 |
| 5 | Min. Length | 2mm |
| 6 | Max. Length | 8mm |
| 7 | Min angle Quad | 45 |
| 8 | Max angle Quad | 135 |
| 9 | Min angle Tria | 20 |
| 10 | Max angle Tria | 120 |
| 10 | Tria % | 10 |
CAD MODEL

COMPONENTS
- Hinge

- LATCH

- INNER PANEL

- OUTER PANEL

PROCEDURE
- The given model is imported using the Import geometry subpanel and the model is selected and imported
MIDSURFACE
- Now the mid surface of each component is generated using the mid surface(Skin offset ) option in the geometry panel since it is a sheet metal component. Then geometry clean up is done and made sure that there is no free edges other than holes and edges
HINGE

LATCH

OUTER PANEL

MESH
- Since the inner and the outer panel are symmetric components one half is split, meshed using the auto mesh option with recommended target size, and reflected on the other half.
HINGE

LATCH

OUTER PANEL

QUALITY CHECKUP

Tria

- Then the thickness is assigned to each parts from property card
