Week 6-3D Tetra Meshing Challenge

1.MODEL1

Objective

              To create tetramesh for housing component size of 5units.check quality following quality criteria,min and max length are 2 and 7,tet collapse 0.15.

Procedure

first import the housing component,geometry cleanup was done.then go for 2d automesh set the target element size of 5.choose trias and mesh.next check elements in tool paanel,check min and max length.then rectify the failed elements.then go for 3d panel choose tetramesh,select all elements and give mesh.again go to tools panel check elements.check tetcollapse,and rectify which elements are failed in tetcollapse in the value of 0.15.fianl model was saved.

Result

finally tetra mesh[2d-3d] created and quality checked successfully.

2.MODEL2

Objective

To create 3d tetramesh target element size of 3units and check tetcollapse size of 0.15.

Procedure

First imported the geometry,geometry cleanup was done.then tetra mesh was created size of 3units using volume tetra in 3d panel.and checked the tetcollapse of 0.15 and rectify the failed elements using replace option.distance option used to increase and decrease the size of elements.

Result

Finally tetra mesh was created using volume tetra and tetcollapse checked successfully.

3.MODEL3

Objective

To create tetramesh targel element size of 4units.to check quality tetcollapse 0.15.

Procedure

Initially import the geometry,it considers 5 parts.take one by one and make current which part is ready to mesh.geometry cleanup was done.surf fillets removed.and go for 3d panel volume tetra pick the solid set the size of mesh 4units and started mesh.some cases in volume tetra choosed surf instead of solids.then checked tetcollapse and rectify failed elements using replace option in 2d panel.repeat same procedure for remaining parts.finally tetra mesh created and quality checked.

Result

tetramesh created and checked tetcollapse successfully.final model attached below.
