Week 6
Objecitve:
- To create the connections between the different parts in the assembly of rear door for car, with the different types of connection techniques along with different 1D elements.
- The given rear door FE model, apply the same technique and the elements to implement the connections.
Procedure:
- To check the FE element for connection.
- Connection Manager.
- Final FE with Connection.
To check the FE Element for Connection:
- Importing Geomentry:Ansa.nas file type
- Using import model using the Nastran input file option.,
- After importing the Geomentry and with fully meshed
Assigning property Id:
Type of Connection:
- Blot,Seam weld - overlap shell & Y- joint shell, Adessive,spot weld etc.
- Bush connection.
Connection:
RBE2 Connection:
- In this RBE2 type of connection we are connecting the two or more holes on the surface with locked their in all axles and all degrees of Freedom,For setting up the RBE2 connection we need to go to the Nastran Options under the Element tab selecting the RBE2 option.
RBE2 Spider connection type:
- In this method of connection to the one hole surface in the surface of the model to make it rigid in all the axes which is used to avoids the movement during the NVH simulation in NASTRAN, in the Nastran tab with RBE2.
RBE2 Two node connection for Hinges:
- In this method of connection of RBE2 method used to connect the two node in the Hinges are in the model, this connection are done through in the Nastran under the Element with RBE2 options and selecting the the two point .
RBE2 connection for Door Hinges:
- In this method of RBE2 connection for Door Hinges to assign the value and according to the Nastran tab with its Element tab for the RBE2.
Bolt connection:
- In this method of connecting we are going to assign the bolt with surface in the geomentry with help of ON COG options in the topo tab and after assign the point we need to covert the point in 3d point for connection manager.
- In the connection manager we are going to assign the P1,P2 for the according to the surface geomentry and with Represent the FE model, using the Zones for the conection occurs we need to assign the IN/Out or In/OutX methods.
- After assign the required data we need to Realize the connection its shows the status is Ok with Bolt.
Spot weld Connection:
- Spot weld connection is the method of connecting the two surface , generally in component is connected with hep of the spot.
- For creating the connection we need to assign the ON COG point on the surface of the geomentry.
- After that we need to convert the point using the 3d point
- In the 3d point convertion we need to select the spot weld
- After middle click its shows the connection managers in that pressing the F1 key to select the point for the P1,P2 .
- In the FE represent we need to select the RBE3-HEX-RBE3.
- And finally realize the connection.
Window Glass bush connection:
- In this method of connection is used to connect the two different surface and component .
- With help of the bush connection we can avoid the damage of galss during the simulation process.
- Glass are to be separated with or command
- In the mesh tab we need to use the feat2curve to create the curve arounfd the glass.
- After that we need to convert the curve to spotline
- After converting to spot line we need to connect the spot line with proper connection.
- We are going to select the one by one line to connected with the Bush
- In the FE resp tab we need to select the RBE3-CBUSH-RBE3.
- And giving the search distance to be 50
- And we need to select the all keep all branch
- And assign the value for P1,p2,S according.
- In the FE resp ,in body we need to assign the Bush Property ID according the preset value for each connection.
- Finally we need to apply and Realize the Connection will be Status will be OK.
Conclusion:
- All connection such as RBE2,RBE3,spot weld ,two node connection, seam weld connection and Bush connection as per the requirement.
- And final FE optimization done.
