Challenge - For the given models, check for the geometrical errors and delete surfaces which are unwanted for Surface wrap as shown in the videos. After clearing geometry, merge all 3 models and perform surface wrap.
Target length for Wrap = 3 mm
Write a detailed report on steps followed to finish this challenge.
Solution – In this challenge, we got a 3D model of an Engine, Transmission box & a gear box assembly. For performing a surface mesh on these specimens, we need to remove all the unwanted surfaces, before performing surface mesh.
Removal of unwanted surface- Remove all the unwanted surface, which is having circular cross section. Which are used to fabricate circular edges.
Merge- After removal of all the unwanted surface from the specimen, we need to merge all the three specimens, Transmission system, gearbox one by one to

Properties – In the properties section, we have total 1500 surfaces. Which we are unable to delete directly, because we have deleted the unwanted surface. To delete all the unwanted PID, we have to use compress option to forcefully delete all the unwanted PID.

Create new surface – After deleting all the unwanted surface, we have create a surface, where we have an opening. We need to close all the opening in the surface. Before the surface warp.

Result - A leak free surface is thus obtained easily using surface wrap, without involving the complex process of topo cleanup. This FE model can be used to perform flow analysis around it.
