Explain the various applications of Power converters in an Electric vehicle. For Example what type of converter will you use for Horn which requires DC and less than 10V. Likewise come up with different applications

Traction Motor (DC/AC)

Electrical motors are machines used for converting electrical energy into mechanical energy and primarily DC motors are used for this purpose, but due to the unreliability of DC motors, AC motors are used because of their efficiency. Application of power electronics in building controllers for AC motors has tremendous progress from the past two decades. Thus, for AC motors to supply power, power stored in batteries of the automotive electrical and electronic systems of electric vehicles or hybrid electric vehicles or ICE require the application of power electronics such as DC to AC converters or electrical inverters

Light Contoller -

• main head light - genrally head light working in 12 or 24 volt that can be operate directly by the oxillary battery but for the on of operation of light or other application we need to relay module .
• indicator ligth - indicator light having diff. diff, color also having on off(triggring ) nature so for this application ve can use dc-dc converter .

CDI

The DC-CDI module is powered by the battery, and therefore an additional DC/AC inverter circuit is included in the CDI module to raise the 12 V DC to 400-600 V DC, making the CDI module slightly larger. However, vehicles that use DC-CDI systems have more precise ignition timing and the engine can be started more easily when cold.

On board charger

on board charger is one type of AC- DC converter

In every vehicale having charging port , charging port take power from auxilary 12v battery and with the halp of buck type converter given output voltage 5 V

Horn

Horn which requires DC and less than 10V , Horn take power from auxilary battery here we need to covert 12/24 to 10 with the help of buck type converter

HVAC and thermal

Air Conditioner

air conditioner wor on 12 volt here we need DC-DC type converter

Music System

also music system work on 12 or 24 Volt here need to convert Voltage DC- DC
