Project 2

1. Design an interleaving DC/DC converter system for a data centre application with the following specifications:

• Input voltage: 45 – 60 v
• Output voltage: 3 V
• Output current: 100A
• Efficiency > 85% (extra credit for efficiency higher than 90% on a spice-based software simulation tool)

Vmin = 40 ; minimum input voltage
Vmax = 60; maximum input voltage
IN THIS SIMULATION WE TAKE IN PUT VOLTAGE IS MAXIMUM
Vout = 3; out put voltage
Io = 100 ; % amp load current
p = Vout*Io = 3*100 = 300w; power rating
dvo = 0.01; 0.010000000000000 output voltage ripple 1% of voutput voltage
% asssume tramsfermer ratio n1/n2 = 10 and fs= 50000 and n1 = 100
in our assumption we reduce voltage up to 10 times
fs= 50000 ;
n1 = 100 ;
n2 = n1/10 = 100/10;
n2 = 10
% as tarnsformer ratio
V1 is winding 1 voltage
V1 = Vmax;
V1 = 60
v2 , winding 2 voltage
V2 = V1*n2/n1 = 60*10/100
V2 = 6
duty ratio of converter D
D = Vout/V2 = 3/6= 0.5 duty ratio
D = 0.500000000000000
% for 3rd winding trun ratio D(1+(n3/n1)<= 1
n3 = (1-D)*n1/D;
n3 = (1-0.5)*100/0.5
n3 = 100
% for multiphase system here im create two parallel converter
% so both converter load equle share
I1 = Io/2;
I1 = 100/2 = 50 (avg. inducter current )
I2 = 100/2 = 50 (avg. inducter current )
dIl1 = 0.3*I1;
dIl1 = 0.3*50 = 15 ripple of inducter current as per our assumption
dIl2 = 0.3*I1;
dIl2 = 0.3*50 = 15 2nd inducter ripple current as per assumption
L1 = Vout*(1-D)/(fs*dIl1);
L1 = 3*(1-0.5)/(50000*15) = 2.000000000000000e-06 henry inducter 1st
L2 = Vout*(1-D)/(fs*dIl2);
L2 = 3*(1-0.5)/(50000*15) = 2.000000000000000e-06 henry inducter 2nd
capacitor are commen
C = (1-D)/(8*L1*fs*fs*dvo);
C = (1-0.5)/(8*50000*50000*0.01)= 0.001250000000000 f
R = p/Io^2
R = 300/100*100 = 0.03ohm , load resistanse

Show your design in details (most probably, you will need to use an isolated system to achieve this low voltage conversion ratio, you might also need to use a multiphase system to increase the efficiency).

yes we can use isolated system to achieve low voltage coneversion ratio , that can be more safe for load and also easy for selection of devices , so here i'm use isolated system and convert 60 volt to 6 volt and than use buck ckt and than convert 6 volt to 3 volt with 50 % of duty ratio ;

in this converter use multiphase system thant incresase this efficiency

now converter efficiency is around 98%

Show the input voltage, the output voltage, the input current, the output current, the system efficiency and any other simulation plots necessary to evaluate your design.

INPUT VOLTAGE = 60 VOLT

OUTPUT VOLTAGE = 3 VOLT

INPUT CURRENT

INPUT MAXIMUM CURRENT 11.8 AMP

OUT PUT CURRENT = 100 AMP
