 trere are some power converter are use in electric vehicle these are;-

• ac to dc

this type of converter is use for battery charging . it can be found in on board charger (OBC). or in nomal charger. also in high speed charging station (which is convert 3phase ac to dc power ) 

• dc to dc

this is a one type of converter whhich normally take input from battery and give output to as less than or greater than the battery voltage. in a electric vehicle we use step down dc to dc converter which output mostly privide 24v or12v as all asssoseries are take 24v or 12v.. 

• dc to ac

this type of converter is also called inverter. in ev this type of converter is use for running the motor.. inverter takes input as dc and opt put is ac (may be 1phase or 3 phase).

for horn we will use stepdown (buck) dc-dc converter which is convert power to certain voltage to less than 10v or as requied.

differnt application of this type of converter is -

• use in low dc voltage application 
• avation sector
• also use in ev (2wheeler and 3 wheeler)
