AIM: Implement control logic of a “washing machine” using Stateflow as per given sequence:
If the power supply is available, the system gets activated
If the Water supply is not available, stop the process & indicate through LED
Soaking time should be 200s followed by Washing time of 100s.
Then rinsing happens for next 20s & dryer runs for 50s
After all the processes have completed turn on the finished LED
2. Make a Simulink chart for the “Gear shift” logic as per below conditions:
Speed Range(kmph) Gear
0 to 15 1
16 to 25 2
26 to 40 3
41 to 60 4
Above 61 5
Give speed input while the simulation is running & display the gear number.
# STATEFLOW: systematic solution of a problem is possible with sequential ,unambitious and realizable finite process. step set. this set is called 'algorithm' and it is one of the most important part of the programming languages.in thsstudy it is represented how to learn algorithm by using simulink stateflow. in flow diagram-based algorithm learning.
# CONTROL LOGIC OF WASHING MACHINE: it checks for the extent of dirt and grease ,the amount of soap and water to add, direction of spin, and so on. sbalances washing load to ensure correct spinning.else,it reduces spinning speed if an imbalance is detected.even distribution of washing load reduces spinning noise.the two inputs are given the machine for the power and water supply.once the inputs are given outputs are displayed by the flow chart.as per given sequence .the system are observed for sometime then it is checked and the process is completed by green light as displayed.
#PROCEDURE:
working principle of washing achine : A washing machine by spinning helps to soap and dirt with it to leave the surface of the cloths via centrifugal force and into outlet pipes hence utilizing centrifugation to both clean and partiallydry the clothes loaded in it. thus, the process are electrically controlled ,such as, drums, vaklves, motor, pumps, and heating.the valves open again and the dirty water drains out of the drums the pumps works to help. get rid of the water the valves lets clean water in again into the drums the four processes are are:
SOAKING:it is used to dip clothes in detergent water to remove dirt from the clothes .in this function customer need to select soak from the panel.this function is available with wash timer.
WASHING:during the wash cycle ,a large plastic agitator turns, around moving your clothes through the water when the wash is finished .the pump drains the water from the outer drum.
RINSING: the dirty soapy water is drained then the washing machine is refilled and your clothes are 'rewashed' in clean water .spin. all the water is drained completely. then your clothes are spun very fast and excess water is removed thanks to centrifugal force.
DRYER: They work by pushing warm dry air through your wet washing to extract moisture. then cooling, now humid air in a heat exchanger to condense the moisture. which is collected in a tank or a pumped down the drain. the air is reheated and cycles repeated.
EXPLANATION:
* create a chart block for defining the stateflow as per the given condition.
* inside it, the circular junction is to terminate the signal flow and return a null value.
* if power is OFF i.e.,0, the process is terminated at the junction else 1 is carry forwarded. if water is off i.e,0, the process is terminated at the junction else 1 is carry forwarded .after this at 200 sec soak block gets activated and soaking action taks place.
* after300 sec of soaking, wash block gets activated and washing action takes place.after 320 sec of washing rinse block and gets activated and rinsing action takes place. after 370 sec of rinsing , dry block gets activated and drying action takes place.
* after then the signal flow in the process and exits the chart.
*define power and water as inputs whereas soak ,wash, rinse, dry, finish as outputs.
* connect the chart block with constant blocks for power and water inputs.input switches connected to them are slider switch and a toggle switch respectively.attach lamps to observe the ON/OFF condition.
* a common scope block is connected to observe the entire washing process and obtain the output plot. blue colour in the lamp indicates that the process is complete.
* a simulink model for operating the washing machine.
#GEAR SHIFT LOGIC: A gear shift mechanism for a manual transmission includes a shft axially movable for selecting shift planes and rotatablefor engaging the gears defining the shift planes. the shaft is held in a referance shift plane by two helical springs.
Five gear
state is created with the state condition of gear(G)1,2,3,4,5 respectively and their transition is connected with speed range condition as shown in image.
The transition conditions for gear shift is decided as speed >15 shift to G=2
speed>25 shift to G=3
speed > 40 shift to G=4
speed > 60 shift G=5 ( when speed is increasing from 0-60 kmph)
similarlly, in reverse direction speed < 60 shift to G=4
speed < 40 shift to G=3
speed < 25 shift to G=2
speed < 15 shift to G=1 ( when speed is decreasing from 60-0 kmph)
# STEPWISE PROCEDURE:
* create a chart block for defining the stateflow as per given.
* if speed is less than or equal to 0, the flow is terminated and gear 0 is at the junction else 1 is carry forwarded.
* if speed is greater than 0, and less than equal to 15, the flow is terminated and gear1 is.
* if speed is greater than 15 and less than equal to 25, the flow is terminated and gear2 is.
* speed is greater than 25 and less than or equal to 40, the flow is terminated and gear 3is.
* speed is greater than 40 and less than equal to 60, the flow is terminated and gear 4is.
* speed is greater than 60, the flow is terminated and gear5 is.
# RESULTS:
1] Thus, the control logicof a washing machine using stateflow is processed as per the given sequence and LED lights are turn to the green colour and the system is completed.
2] A simulink model is created for the gear shift logic and using slider gain the values are obtained.
