Week 4 - 2D Meshing for Sheet Metal

OBJECTIVE:

To perform the geometry cleanup, take the mid-surface, and mesh the given CCB CAD MODEL with 2D element quality criteria.

CAD MODEL:

PROCEDURE:

1. GEOMETRY CLEANUP AND TOPOLOGY

-> The Geometry cleanup has been done to the given CCB CAD MODEL and checked through the tool ( geometry check).

2. MID-SURFACING AND SKIN GENERATION

-> To perform the mid-surface of the given model the tool used to generate is (OFFSET-FACES). After the mid-surface is done once again the geometry check is done but this time by switching off the single cons.

3. MESHING

-> BY using the (CLASSIC MESH) We will perform the meshing operations. Some major tools used in meshing are

3.1- MESH GENERATION: BEST

3.2- SHELL MESH: RECONSTRUCTION, SMOOTH, AND COLLAPSE

4. QUALITY PARAMETERS

As per the given quality parameters. The model has meshed accordingly.

RESULT :

The geometry Cleanup and topology, Mid-Surfacing, and Meshing are done as per the given Quality parameter criteria.
