REPORT ON 1D Element Creation Challenge

In this challenge the main aim is:

• Use Manual approach to take Mid surface, Use Manual meshing approach for 2D meshing
• 1-d element creatin

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

OBJECTIVE:

1. Different 1D Elements Creation in places of alphabetical signs.
2. And before doing that mid-surfacing and meshing was conducted.

PROCEDURE:

• At first geometry was cleaned using auto clean-up command.
• Then mid-surface was extracted from the geometry using offset command. The process was conducted manually to capture the whole feature presented in the model.
• Material was defined as steel.
• After that thickness was assigned to the mid surface which is of magnitude 2.5.
• Before meshing washer, area was defined around the holes which is of magnitude 5.
• After that 2-d meshing was conducted using auto mesh command.

PROCEDURE FOR 1-D ELEMENT CREATION:

• The cross-sections and its orientation for rod, bar and beam elements are defined using hyper beam command AND FOR OPTISTRUCT SOLVER.
• The element used for spring is PGAP.
