Week 3 Sheet metal Bending challenge
Objective:
To perform Sheet metal bending to the given model for 3 different materials.
Procedure:
- First import the given Sheet metal bending model.
- Start to provide the boundary conditions.
- Select frictional contacts for both the,
- Punch to sheet.
- Sheet to die.
- Start to mesh the model as given meshing parameters.
- Make the no. of steps as 10.
- ON the auto time stepping.
- Solver type to be direct.
- Weak sprigs ON.
- Non-linear control - stabilization constant.
- Select displacement1,2,3
- X-0-0
- Y-0,-0.5,-1.5,-3,-6,-9,-12,-13.5,-12,-9,-8.
- Z-0-0
- Solve the model.
- Do the same procedure for Aluminium alloy [1199], Copper alloy, Magnesium alloy.
Conclusion:
All the simulations were done and model saved.
CASE i:
- Change the material as the same procedure for Aluminium alloy [1199], Copper alloy, Magnesium alloy and continue the procedure.
- Record the stress , strain, and total deformation values.
CASE ii:
- With the material as Aluminium Alloy, change the friction coefficient to 0.19 and run the analysis as mentioned in Case 1.
- Compare the results with that in case 1.
- Record the values for stress, strain, total deformation values.
CASE iii:
- Refine the mesh on the plate such that it doesn't cross the academic limit.
- With Aluminium alloy as material, run the analysis as in Case 1 and compare the results.
- Now plot the values.
