Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

A1]

  • For number of cycles equal to 1,the distance traveled by vehicle is 11 miles i.e 17.7 km

  • For number of cycles equal to 10,the distance traveled by vehicle is 25.7 miles i.e 14.3 km

Conclusion-

1.If cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, the vehicle travel will not for 45 km with FTP drive cycle. It will travel upto 25.7 miles i.e 41.3km

2.For default condition i.e the cargo weight to be 136 kg ,the vehicle will travel upto 30 miles 48 km.

3.Therefore we can conclude that as weight increases, the power loss is more and vehicle travels for less distance.Hence as the cargo weight increases ,the vehicle travels upto 41.3 km and does not exceed 45 km range.

A2]

  • For cargo weight 500 kg and reduced battery capacity, for number of cycles equal to 10,the distance traveled by vehicle is 20.8 miles i.e 33.48 km

  • For cargo weight 500 kg and increased battery capacity, for number of cycles equal to 10,the distance traveled by vehicle is 30.5 miles i.e 49.08 km

Conclusion-

1.When the battery capacity is reduced ,the distance travelled by the vehicle is less where as when the battery capacity is increased, the distance travelled by the vehicle is more (more than 45km range).

2.As we know that when the battery capacity is increased i.t the modules are increased more than the default modules, the power hence the energy is increased and hence the driving range increases.

3.More is the energy ,more is the driving range and less is the energy, less is the range.

A3]

  • When speed is 55 mph

  • When speed is 30 mph

  • When speed is 10 mph

Conclusion-

1.It has been observed that,as speed increases, the percentage gradeability increases and as speed decreases, the percentage gradeability decreases.

2.The speed and percent gradeability are inversely proportional to each other.
