Meshing of Car Hood using ANSA
Aim:
To mesh the given Hood model with the given quality criteria using ANSA.
Quality Criteria:
| Target/Average length | 5 |
| Minimum length | 3 |
| Maximum length | 7 |
| Skewness | 45 |
| Aspect Ratio | 3 |
| Warpage | 15 |
| Jacobian | 0.7 |
| Min. Quad Angle | 45 |
| Max. Quad Angle | 135 |
| Min. Tria Angle | 30 |
| Max. Tria Angle | 120 |
| Tria Percentage | 15 |
Procedure:
- The Hood Model is opened in the ANSA tool and the part is checked for geometry and once the geometry is free of errors the part is then assigned the material properties.
- The mid surafce is generated for the model one by one and seperate properties are assigned to each part of the model.
- The mesh parameters and quality criteria are set before meshing the model.
- The parts of the model are meshed one by one using the "Best" option from the mesh and the quality criteria are achieved by refining the mesh.
- Once the required mesh is achieved the shell id drawn as a solid and the required aim is achieved.

Learning Outcome:
The basics of meshing a part using ANSA is learned.
Results:
The given Hood model is meshed according to the given quality criteria.
