Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve
Aim: To perform topology cleanup and mesh the model with different element sizes.
Topology cleanup:
The imported geometry has the following errors:

All the single-cons errors are resolved by creating new surfaces using the (FACES-NEW) option and (CONS-FILL HOLE) option.

PID Assignment:
The PID's are created, and the surfaces are assigned to them.

Meshing:
The Perimeters->Length option is used to select the perimeters and macros. The mesh parameters and mesh quality criteria are set.
The Spot Mesh method is used to generate the mesh. The PID and entity selection methods are used to mesh the geometry.
The geometry is meshed for three different mesh lengths: 5mm, 3mm, and 1mm.

The following are the ANSA files with different mesh sizes:
The 1 mm mesh length will give good results. The 5mm and 3mm mesh lengths cause poor meshing of the spring component as the spring edge length is less than 3.5mm.

Spring with 5mm mesh length

Spring with 3mm mesh length

Spring with 1mm mesh length
The mesh size should be chosen carefully so that the target mesh length is not greater than the size of the smallest part of the geometry.
