Week 2 Bevel Gear Challenge
Grid Dependency Test :
Grid Dependency Test is a test in which, the analysis begins with Coarse mesh and it is then refined to finer mesh, in order to acheive more accurate result with more finer mesh .
Case 1 : Mesh Size 6mm
Model(Common in Case 1,2 & 3):

Material(Common in Case 1,2 & 3):

Contact(Common in Case 1,2 & 3):

Mesh:

Face Meshing (Common in Case 1,2 & 3):

Boundary Condition(Common in Case 1,2 & 3):

Analyis Setting (Common in Case 1,2 & 3):

Solution :
A) Von-Mises Stress:

B) Equivalent Elastic Strain:

C) Total Deformation:

Case 2 : Mesh Size 5mm
Mesh:

Solution :
A) Von-Mises Stress:

B) Equivalent Elastic Strain:

C) Total Deformation:

Case 3 : Mesh Size 4mm
Mesh:

Solution :
A) Von-Mises Stress:

B) Equivalent Elastic Strain:

C) Total Deformation:

Conclusion :
| Element Size | Von-Mises Stress(MPa) | Elastic Strain | Total deformation(mm) |
| 6 | 104.55 | 0.00061769 | 47.893 |
| 5 | 124.46 | 0.00077212 | 47.893 |
| 4 | 136.92 | 0.00073072 | 47.893 |
From the above data we can see that the by decreasing the element size ,stress & strain both increased, this is due to because in increasing no. of elements.
Element size 5 & 4 will have comparable results .If we further reduce the MEsh size , the result might increase but that increases the run time as no. of element increases.
