Week 2 Bevel Gear Challenge
Grid Dependancy Test and its uses:
- Grid dependancy test is nothing but by varying the mesh size and calculate the mesh value.
- For different mesh sizes , what are all the values we get is recorded in this test.
- The main purpose of this grid dependancy test is to record which mesh size will give the optimum result.
Grid Dependancy Test:
- For the given Bevel gear simulation the grid dependancy test has been performed, for mesh sizes of 6,5 and 4 mm.
-
ANSYS WB,
- At first we open static structural in ANSYS work bench.
- Now start to give the material card as structural steel.
- Give all the material Boundary conditions.
- Now import the given bevel gear geometry model.
- Next Give all the required aspects on the branch.
- Give contact details, creat joints, analysis settings, Joint load etc...
- Give initial time step as 0.2s, min. time step as 0.1, give max time step as 1 s.
- Now in the solution part record the values of the stress, strain and deformation.
Presentation:
- The results of the grid dependancy is recorded and analysed.
- At first we usesd mesh size as 4 and then for the second time we use mesh size as 5 and third time we use mesh size as 6.
- After that we recorded the optimum value of the bevel gear model.
- Next the model is archived and saved after that it's uploaded.
