Week 2 Air standard Cycle
In this challenge i have plotted a PV diagram for an otto cycle by using a engine parameters and some inputs.In this otto cycle we have four process to complete one cycle.if p1 and t1 are the given inputs and t3 is the output parameters so that we can calculate v1,v2,p2,p3,p4,t2,t4 and it has two constant volume processes so that v2=v3 and v1=v4.Finally,i have found out the thermal effieciency of Otto cycle
processes include-
1.process 1-2 is an adiabatic (isentropic compression)
2.process 2-3 is a constant -volume heat transfer
3.process 3-4 is aa adiabatic(isentropic expansion)
4.process 4-1 completes the cycle by a constant volume process in which the heat is rejected.
V/Vc=1+1/2(Rc-1)[R+1-cos theta -(R^2-sin^theta)^1/2]
Thermal efficiency of the engine is given by
n=(1-1/r^k-1)
where
n=thermal efficiency
r=compression ratio that is 'cr'
K=value of gamma that is adiabatic process
RESULT:-
Thermal efficiency of the engine=56.47%
