Q1.

Components we used :

  1. Pulse generator
  2. Battery
  3. Simulink to ps converter
  4. Solenoid
  5. Switch
  6. Ideal translational motion sensor
  7. Scope
  8. Display

Pulse generator : Pulse generators capable of generating pulses with widths under approximately 100 picoseconds are often termed as "microwave pulsers".

As per our conditions the parameters are :

Battery : Here it is electrical source.

Simulink to ps converter : It converts simulink signal to physical signal.

Solenoid : A cylindrical coil of wire acting as a magnet when carrying electric current which helps us to maintain the time of snoosing of the bell.

Switch : A switch is an electrical component that can disconnect or connect the conducting path in an electrical circuit.

Ideal translational motion sensor : The Ideal Translational Motion Sensor block represents a device that converts an across variable measured between two mechanical translational nodes into a control signal proportional to velocity or position. You can specify the initial position (offset) as a block parameter.

Scope : Which displays signals during simulation.

Original block arrangement :

Physical movement of the plunger :

Graph explaination : For every 2 seconds the plunger is going to hit the bell

Q2.Thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater and turn on or turn off the fans per below conditions.

From 0 to 10sec the temperature is 20 degree celcius.

From 10 to 30sec the temperature is 27 degree celcius.

From 30 to 50sec the temperature is 23 degree celcius.

Fan conditions: ON if the temperature is above 25 degree celcius.

Components we used :

  1. Thermistor
  2. signal builder
  3. controlled temperature source
  4. battery
  5. solver configuration
  6. resistor
  7. voltage sensor
  8. switch

Thermistor : It is a type of resistor whose resistance is strongly dependent on temperature, more so than in standard resistors.

Thermistors are divided based on their conduction model. Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistors have less resistance at higher temperatures, while Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistors have more resistance at higher temperatures. Hence, a PTC thermistor's resistance is directly proportional to temperature.

Signal builder : The Signal Builder block allows you to create interchangeable groups of piecewise linear signal sources and use them in a model. You can quickly switch the signal groups into and out of a model to facilitate testing.

Controlled temperature source : The Controlled Temperature Source block represents an ideal source of thermal energy that is powerful enough to maintain specified temperature difference across the source regardless of the heat flow consumed by the system.

Battery : Electrical source.

Voltage sensor : which senses the voltage.

Resistor : Which opposes the current flow.

Explaination of the model : controlled temperature source going to take the input from the signal builder, and passes through the thermistor.

If the thermistor records the temperature above 25 degree celcius then the switch is going to turn ON.

Initially it has its own time configuration and we need to change according to our needs and here we changed from 0 to 50sec. From axes tool that we find up left corner.

Signals are also needed to be changed according to our needs.

MAIN BLOCK :

Graph explaination : Here at 0 to 10sec the temperature is 20 degree celcius and according to our need the fan must be turned ON if the temperature is above 25 degree celcius. So the fan is OFF.

And at 10 to 30sec the temperature is 27 degree celcius and according to our need the fan must be turned ON if the temperature is above 25 degree celcius. So the fan is turned ON.

At 30 to 50sec the temperature is 23 degrees and fan is turned OFF.
