Week -2

part - 1

The doorbell is a device which has mechanical and electrical components and it produces sound with the help of electromagnetic force.
When the switch is pressed the circuit is complete which allows the current to flow through the electromagnet which in turn pulls the plunger towards it, which breaks up the circuit allowing the plunger to move back to its initial position. Therefore the cycle repeats until the switch is pressed on.

Solenoid - A solenoid is a device having coils wrapped around the housing amd a movable armature. When electric current is passed through it, it pulls the plunger towards itself which in result produces sound.

Explanation of blocks used : -
pulse generator - used to generate input pulse
simulink p-s converter - converts input simulink signals into physical signal
switch - provides external physical feedback
battery - provide power to the circuit
electrical reference - connection to ground
solenoid - converts electrical energy into mechanical work
translation motion sensor - senses translational motion
p-s simulink converter - converts input physical system into simulink signals
mechanical translational reference - reference for mechanical translational parts
Scope - used for visualizing signal during simulation.

Part -2

Thermistor - A thermistor is a resistance thermometer whose resistance varies with the input temperature provided to it.

input conditions
from 0 to 10 seconds 20 degrees
from 10 to 30 seconds 27 degrees
from 30 to 50 seconds 23 degrees

fan conditions ON if the temperature is above 25 degrees, OFF otherwise.

The treshold value of the switch is to be taken more than that of what is shown in the display.

input signals along with the scope and the simulink model files has been attached with report for further references.
