Week 12:Project 2-Meshing of Rear Wheel Holder challenge
Objective:
- To mesh the given floor panel component with the given quality criteria.
- Quality Criteria:
Target Element Length = 5 Units
| S.N | Quality Criteria | Value |
| 1 | Aspect Ratio | 5 |
| 2 | Skewness | 45 |
| 3 | Warping | 15 |
| 4 | Taper | 0.5 |
| 5 | Min. Length | 2 Units |
| 6 | Max. Length | 8 Units |
| 7 | Min angle Quad | 45 |
| 8 | Max angle Quad | 135 |
| 9 | Min angle Tria | 20 |
| 10 | Max angle Tria | 120 |
| 10 | Tria % | 10 |
Procedure:
- The given component is a floor panel that is used under the boot of a car where a Stepney fits in.
- Below is the image of the model.

1. Geometry cleanup:
- The errors in the geometry as shown in the images below are cleared by using tools in the Geometry deck.

- After clearing the geo cleanups, mid-surface is taken.
- The mid surface can be taken using the auto or manual method.
- The thickness of the component is 0.75mm throughout, hence 2D meshing is preferred by taking mid surface.

2. Midsurface extraction:
- The manual mid surface is taken by using the offset method and put in the different collector.
- In order to get a better flow of mesh, unnecessary lines are toggled.
3. Meshing:
- The quality criteria are entered mesh is created surface by surface in order to get a better flow.
- The quality of the mesh can be improved by using the clean-up tools like drag tria, split, smooth, etc.
- The mesh flow can be improvised by using rebuild mesh also.

- After meshing is done complete, thickness has to be given to the mesh.
- This can be done by creating a new property and assigning the property to the mesh component.

CONCLUSION :
- The Rear-Wheel Holder model is meshed according to the quality criteria as shown in the result above.
