Week 11 - Final project

Final Project Report

Hello this is Mohit Srivastava.

This is the Detailed Report of Door Trim Lower Plastic Component. In which we just talk about How to make (Tooling Axis, Class B Surface, Class C Surface, Heat Stakes and also Locator, Flange, Dog House.)

Arm Rest

Class A Surface Improvement

For Improvement we should have to Extract the Class A Surface in a 2 Part where we Extrapolate the both Extract and trim them with each other and after triming give a fillet on sharp edges.

Bisecting Method

Bisecting Method is the one of the method of making of Tooling Axis. This is the one of the most common method of making Tooling Axis.

  • In this method firstly we have to make a Extract of a plane surface.
  • After Extract I have to take a Point on a Extract Surface and make a Dummy Axis with reference to direction.
  • After this make a Intersection of a Class A Surface.
  • And make Two Line on a Intersection Area with point to point reference and make sure that the Line is not perpendicular to Tooling Axis
  • And after this Select a Line command and choose a Bisecting Line. And make a Bisecting line with reference that Two line which we make on a Intersection Surface and also select a point of Dummy Axis.
  • And Finally Tooling Axis Made.

Draft Analysis

Check the Draft Analysis of a given Class A Surface Where i saw that there is a problem in Class A Surface.

Class B Surface

  • With the help of master section we know that the thickness of the component is 2.5mm.
  • And also we know that the given Class A Surface is for kusion cover Class A for a plastic component we should have to ma 2mm. offset first and after that make class B Surface.
  • Firstly we have to make offset a Class A Surface of a 2mm. Now we get a proper Plastic Component Class A surface.
  • Now we should give a 2.5mm offset for a Class B Surface.
  • After this we saw that there is open patches.
  • For make a Close surface we should use a Multi-section surface, Join Commend, Extrapolation and Sweep also.
  • And after that give a fillet.
  • And now Class B surface is made.

Class C Surface

For making of Class C Surface we use sweep commend where we use 2 option with reference surface or with draft direction

  • Firstly we make boundary on a Class A Surface In a 3 step and make a Class C Surface in a 3 step for making accurate or proper.
  • After this select the 1 boundary and sweep it with reference to surface.
  • And after this select the 2 boundary and sweep it also but the Angle should be 45degree.
  • After this select the 1 boundary and sweep it.
  • And aftert this make a Multi-section surface also and Join them with each other.
  • Make sure that the sweep length should be minimum according to the thickness of the component Like 4mm.

A+C Surface

  • For making a A+C Surface just use join commend and select the Class A Surface and Class C Surface.

A+B+C Surface

  • For making a A+B+C Surface just use trim commend and select A+C Surface and B Surface and trim it.

Close Surface

  • For making a Close Surface we go on a part workbench and use close surface which is inside in surface-based
  • Define a body and select a close surface commend.
  • And close surface is become

Draft Analysis

Now we have to make draft analysis and check the component draft angle is ok or not according to industry standard.

In a Draft Analysis C Surface comes in a negative degree this is because of Class A surface because in a Class A Surface the edges is corvy.

Lower Panel

Tooling Axis

  • Firstly I just take a Extract on a Plane Surface.
  • After Extract I have to take a Point on a Extract Surface and make Tooling axis Line with reference to direction.
  • And Finally Tooling Axis Made.

Draft Analysis

Now we have to make draft analysis of a class A surface and check the component.

Class B Surface

  • Firstly we have to make offset of a Class A Surface of a 2.5mm. as given in master section.
  • In this there is no open boundary and no open patches. So there is no need to do any thing in it.
  • We just Extrapolate the B surface only.
  • And now Class B surface is made.

Class C Surface

For making of Class C Surface we use sweep commend

  • Firstly we make boundary on a Class A Surface and sweep it to make a Class C Surface.
  • We make a separate separate boundary of a Class A Surface.
  • After making of separate boundary use a sweep commend.
  • And I also use multi-section surface commend and join them with other sweep.
  • And in the last trim it.
  • Make sure that the sweep length should be minimum according to the thickness of the component.

A+C Surface

  • For making a A+C Surface just use join commend and select the Class A Surface and Class C Surface.

Engineering features

Heat Steakes

Heat Stakes

Firstly make sure that we have to make that heat stakes on a location which is easy to make and locate a Flange on it.

  • Firstly we make all location of heat stakes on a lower panel where some location are given in the master section and other will make in distance of 50mm.
  • Than we make a plane on a point which we create on a close body of a lower panel.
  • And make a positioning sketch with reference to plane and point and make a two circle where 1 is 4.5mm Dia. according to the master section and other is 7.5mm Dia.
  • Exit the sketch
  • And make a pad where that height is given in a master section and also give some height in negative side also.
  • After this make another sketch with reference to same sketch
  • Where I just make two simple line.
  • And pad its also but make sure that the height of that particular rid its should be less compare to heat stakes height.
  • And give draft, chamfer and fillet on it.
  • And assemble it in a close body and also give unitrim.
  • And now its make

And now we have to make more heat stakes on a point which is given in Class A Surface.

  • Firstly we have to copy that heat stakes and paste special… in a lower panel and select a Paste with link.
  • And select a translation commend and choose point to point option.
  • Select start and end point.
  • That how all heat stakes are made.

Flange

Flange

  • For making of flange I unhide the master section.
  • Then make a plane with reference to three point.
  • Make a positioning sketch with reference to plane and point.
  • And make a lines with coincidence of master section line.
  • And give a fillet on it which diamention is which is given in a master section.
  • Exit the sketch.
  • And now make a extract of a attach component edge.
  • Go on a sweep commend make a sweep with reference to surface where profile is the sketch which I create and guid curve is the extract of a attach component.
  • Now flange is made.
  • Go on a part workbench and give a thickness which diamenton is also given in a master section.
  • And split it according to the master section.
  • Now make a hole in a flange for fitted in a heat stakes.
  • Make a extract of a heat stakes and give a .5mm offset.
  • And split it.

Now we make a flange on a other heat stakes

  • Firstly we have to copy that flange and paste special… in a lower panel part and select a Paste with link.
  • And select a translation commend and choose point to point option.
  • Select start and end point option

Just like that I also make a flange in a water bottle holder.

Dog house

Dog House

  • For making of dog house we make a 3 location on a lower panel where I want to make a dog house.
  • Make a plane on a point.
  • Make a positioning sketch with reference to plane and point.
  • Make a sketch according to the diemention.
  • Pad it.
  • Make a other sketch for making a slot of push pin according to the given diamentions.
  • And make a unitrim.
  • Now make a ribs inside a dog house which is help to support a push pin.
  • Create another sketch and make a ribs according to the given diamention.
  • And attach it with dog house by unitrim.

Now we make two more dog house

  • Firstly we have to copy that dog house and paste special… in a lower panel part and select a Paste with link.
  • And select a translation commend and choose point to point option.
  • Select start and end point option

Push pin

  • In a push pin we just add a file of a puh pin and locate it on a all dog house.
  • But make sure that all push pin have there saperete part file.
