Week - 10 Hyperelastic Material Models

aim:

to calculate the Mooney Rivlin and Ogden material constants and compare the both using stress-strain data from a Dogbone specimen tensile test with 100 percent strain.

procedure:

1. import the given data in define curve.

2. create material card in that define curve and select N=1.

3. import the given dog bone specimen and apply the material.

4. run the model for tensile test and take the values of mooneys constant from d3hsp and create the graph in the excel

5. follow the same procedure for n=2,3.

6. after that take the constant and apply in material card by putting n=0 and take the values from d3hsp file and plot the graph for comparison.

conclusion.

for mooney constant

n=1
Mooney constant c1 = 0.1768E+00
Mooney constant c2 = 0.1474E+00
n=2
Hyperelastic Constant C10= 0.2595E+00
Hyperelastic Constant C01= 0.4594E-01
Hyperelastic Constant C11= -0.2092E-01
Hyperelastic Constant C20= 0.2914E-02
Hyperelastic Constant C02= 0.1016E-02
Hyperelastic Constant C30= 0.0000E+00
n=3
Hyperelastic Constant C10= 0.2611E+00
Hyperelastic Constant C01= 0.4420E-01
Hyperelastic Constant C11= -0.6074E-02
Hyperelastic Constant C20= -0.2667E-02
Hyperelastic Constant C02= -0.9968E-02
Hyperelastic Constant C30= 0.1565E-03

COMPARISON WITH D3PLOT OF DOGBONE SPECIMEN

The stress-strain curve has been taken from a element under history curve, and then the same was compared with the plot of Stress-strain derived from Constants (N=1,2,3)

the calculation of the stress and strain are all calculated in excel and it also attached.

result.

thus the Mooney Rivlin and Ogden material constants are calculated and compared the both using stress-strain data from a Dogbone specimen tensile test with 100 percent strain.
