Week 10- Assembly Workbench

Aim: Create the parts which are given in the links and assemble them using the assembly drawing workbench.

Assembly design:

Design for Assembly (DFA) is a design process or concept where a product contains as few parts as possible. With a minimal number of parts, it is easier to assemble a product but also time-saving, which in return saves on costs. DFA is to institute actions during design that aid your manufacturer in performing their role as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The main tools used in assembly design are:

  • Coincidence constraint
  • contact constraint
  • offset constraint
  • Angle constraint
  • Manipulation
  • snap
  • explode
