Week 1 Stress Concentration on a Plate with hole

1. i) Total deformation in the given drawings both are very similar at the Load applied edge.

        For the drawing-1 Deformation from load applied end to center of the hole.

        For the drawing-2 Deformation from load applied end to small hole end.

   ii) Maximum maximum stress developed in both drawings at big hole

        For the drawing-1 Maximum stress generated at the edges the of the hole Maximum stress vale is 0.55225MPa.

        For the drawing-2 Maximum stress generated at the edges the of the big hole Maximum stress vale is 0.63214MPa.

2. From an analysis standpoint: Drawing -2 is the Good one, because stress concentartion high at the holes and maximum deformation is low at the center of the compunent. Compared to Drawing-1

3. From a manufacturing standpoint: Drawing -1 is the Good one, because stress concentartion high at the hole and maximum deformation is high  Compared to Drawing-2
