Week 1:- Introduction to BiW and Fixtures Challenge
01- what is BIW & define it,s parts?
ans- BIW is define as body in white it refers to the the welded sheet metal components which form the vehical structure to whoch the other component will be maried i.e engine, chassis, exterior, interior trim is called BIW
BIW PARTS-

02- what is fixtuer its type?
ans- A fixtuer is devie a welding fixtuer is consist of number of unite and holed the car panel and is mounted on a base unit.
TYPE OF FIXTUER =
1) Producation fixtuer- (mass producation purpose)
2) pre producation operation fixtuer (ppo)-(for initial batch producation study the feasibility)
3) checking fixtuer- (for car panel geometric inspection purpose)
03) what is the basic principel of fixture design?
ans- Principle of fixture desing is any free body ther are total of twelve degreesof freedom as below
6 translational degree of freedom +x,-x, +y, -y, +z, -z and 6 rotational degrees of freedom.
- clockwise around x axis (crot-x)
- anticlokwise around x axis (acrot -x)
- clockwise around y axis (crot-y)
- anticlockwise around y axis (acrot-y)
- clockwise around z axis (crot-z)
- anticlockwise around z axis (acrot-z)
you must fix all the 12 degrees of freedom in order to locate the worke piece in the fixture
04) Elabocate type of BIW stations?
ANS-1) re-spot stations- A re-spot is afixtuer in which the remaining weld spots which are not achived in geo tool are welded for the pre welded panel for a geo tool
2) marriage or hemming tool - a hemming tool is a fixtuer in which inner panel assembly and outer panel assembly are joined together
3) cheaking station - a cheaking tool is a fixtuer in which is used to cheke a automotive partes or assembles ensuring all the coordinates reletive diamensione and position as per the tolerances. a checking gouge is a tool where work piece is hold and vorious measuring gouges are introduced to ensuere the dimensions and repeatability
05)what are the basice terminologies used in the BIW fixtuer ?
ANS - 1) NC/MYLARS/FLNGERS
2) PLP
3) BLODE
4) RISERS
5) SHIMS
6) ROUGHLOCATORS
7) HARDWARES
8) CMM
9) UNITS
10) NUMBER PLATE
11) CO-ORDINATE PLATE
12) NAME PLATE
13) CLAMP AEM
14) PIVOT
15) CLASS 'A' SURFACE/SKIN SURFACE
16) REED SWTCHES
17) SENSORS
