Week - 1 - Consistency of units
In defining units for ls dyna we need to understand that every units system are scalable and defined by its interlink property - say In si units we found out Length-M Mass-Kg Time-Sec Force-N Stress-N/m2 Density-Kg/M3 from this we can say that if the length is in Meter and Force in Newtown then indirectly stress is explained in N/M2 hence density become Kg/m3 this is the empirical formulation of standards,
Just like that in Ls Dyna, we are able to customize a co-relation but there are no standard sets that need to follow, Say if we are working in the Automotive industry our time gets expressed in MS milliseconds.
A detailed explanation in-unit conversation is given with table reference in the attached Picture.
