First go to view option in the ribbon there we can get option like as follows:

  • Top view.
  • Isometric view.
  • Front view.
  • Left view.
  • Right view.
  • Bottom view.
  • Back view.

4. Explain the procedure to define a "Simply Supported" condition in Staad pro.

Procedure:

Go to the support command in the tool palet command

  • Click on create support command.
  • There we can get option like fixed support, pin support, fixed but
  • Enforced but support.
  • Cable support.
  • Inclined support.

5. Name any five topics that you will include while creating DBR.

Answer:

Let us first clarify what DBR is. Therefore, the Design Brief Report is the DBR.In essence, a DBR is a concise overview of your intended product, its purpose, and its location. It is, in essence, a crucial component of our project. The following is a list of the five themes that will involve producing DBR:

  • Name of the project and the location of the project.
  • Structural layout.
  • Introduction to the construction methodology.
  • Quality asuurance and quality control.
  • Budget to the project.

6. Describe the term "Multi material design" of Staad pro.

Answer:

  • It is used for 3D model generation, analysis and multi-material design.
  • The Staad Pro support sever steel, concrete and timber material in a seprate member.
  • This seprate member will cordinated and the formed in a structure.

Q3.

1. Name the structure system in Staad pro? Explain each system?

Answer:

The structure systems in Staad Pro software are:

  • Space Frames .
  • Plane Frames.
  • Trusses.

Explanation:

1. Space Frames:-

In essence, space frames are three-dimensional truss-like constructions intended to support loads over greater lengths without the need for intermediary supports. Space frame constructions are lightweight, stiff, and have good structural performance. It is inexpensive to ship.

2. Plane Frames:-

Steel or RCC frame structures make up plane frames. This two-dimensional construction is made up of straight pieces joined together by either stiff or hinged connections.

3. Trusses:-

The structural components are arranged in triangle configurations to generate trusses, which can support loads in both compression and tension.

2. Explain the coordinate system adopted in Staad Pro software.

Answer

X, Y, and Z coordinates are the coordinate systems used in the STAAD Pro software.

In essence, the coordinate system used in the STAAD Pro programme is:

Global Axis:- Mainly global axis are fixed in the coordinate system.

Local Axis:- Local axis is variable in nature. We can change the local axis but not the global axis.

like the STAAD Pro programme. In essence, it makes use of a traditional cartesian coordinate system, where Y is the global, upward-pointing axis. We can state that a building's height is always parallel to the global Y-axis, as the graphic below illustrates:

3. Elaborate DBR and its uses.

Answer:-

In essence, the Design Brief Report, or DBR, is a project management document that includes a variety of details on the building of the facility. This comprehensive report, or DBR, provides minute details about the ongoing building activity. It outlines the last phase of determining the requirements of the client for the construction project. This report essentially includes every significant structural detail that is pertinent, or perhaps better said, related to the project, such as the client's description, site information, special requirements, if any, technical requirements, component requirements, project requirements, and other construction-related issues.

4. Explain the different types of analysis option is Staad Pro.

Answer:-

The different types of analysis option in Staad pro.

  • Linear Elastic analysis.
  • P-Delta analysis.
  • Buckling analysis.
  • Pushover analysis.

5. Explain the difference between fixed and fixed but condition.

Answer:-

Fixed condition:-

In the STAAD Pro programme, a fixed condition is one in which all of the degrees of freedom—horizontal, vertical, and moment—are fixed. In other words, these conditions are restricted and cannot be altered accordingly. We might refer to those conditions as permanent conditions.

Fixed-but condition:-

Regarding the fixed-end condition, we can state that its end conditions can be tailored to the requirement. We can alter the final state in this situation as it is unrestricted.A portion of the necessary degree of freedom can be released.

Practical

1. Create a staad pro model with the following specification

a. A beam of span 16m

b. Support: Fixed on one end and roller support (horizontal) on the other end

c. A point load of 50kN at the mid-point

d. Draw SFD and BMD using software

Procedure:-

  • Open the Staad pro software and create a New Model
  • The first step is to initiate the project in staad pro
  • Clicking on the new choice that appears on the staad intro screen will accomplish the same thing.
  • Once you select the new model, you may input the project information.
  • You'll also be prompted to choose a location inside your system.
  • After that, select Create to begin a new project.
    • Now, sketch the necessary spanning beam.
    • Go to geometry and establish the first node at X-0, Y-0, and Z-0 to mimic the suggested beam.
    • Next, move the node pointer to the created node and select it.
    • Use the keys Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V.
    • Press Enter after entering the 16-meter span length in the X direction.
    • Now draw the Beam of Required Span
    • To model the proposed beam, go to geometry and create the first node at X-0, Y-0, and Z-0.
    • Then, select the created node by switching to the node cursor.
    • Press ctrl+c and ctrl+v.
    • Specify the span length that is 16 meters in the X-direction and hit enter.
    • Both the ends of the required beams are created now go to add beam>select first node and then second to create a beam of the proposed length.
  • Now that the necessary beams have been constructed on both ends, go to add beam>select first node, then second node to build a beam of the desired length.

  • Assign support conditions

1. Go to support>add>fixed>select one node>assign to selected nodes>enter.

2. Similarly, create another node>fixed but>release moments and horizontal restraints>select the other node>assign to select>ok.

  • give properties to the beam with and thickness
  • give materials to the beam as a concrete.
  • Assign the proposed load

1. Go to loads>create>member load>global Y> -50kN>d1-5, >Ok.

2. Now, select the load and beam and check the radio button for assign to selected>apply>ok.

  • Run analysis

1. Next, choose the analysis approach you want to use by going to the design and analysis panel.

2. Proceed to execute the analysis from the analysis and design panel once the analysis technique has been configured.

3. Once the analysis is finished, give it some time and check for mistakes and alerts.

4. After the analysis is finished, you should be good to go if there are no errors or warning indicators.

  • Draw SFD and BMD

1. Proceed to the post-processing mode, choose the load cases, click Apply, and then click OK.

2. After that, your staad screen will automatically display all of the analysis results.

3. To view the shear force diagram, select Beam Results > Mz for the bending moment > Fy.

4. To see the values and the diagrams as entered below, make sure to select the annotate option:
