Week 1 Challenge
1.1
Open the STAAD pro software and locate the share option available on the introduction screen.
After clicking on the share button, select send mail option.
Then, browse for the. Std file on your machine & send it.
1.2 The different materials used in the staad pro is
Concrete
Aluminium
Steel
Stainless steel
1.3 Yes, We can take pictures of models and structural results in staad pro using the take picture command, the command is available in the utility panel with a camera logo.
1.4 Analytical model.
Physical model.
Building planner model.
1.5 After creating a geomentry go to the properties tab – Define a property in the shape needed
Then give the YD , ZD dimensions in meters
Then assign it to the material created
2.1 Compression Strength
Yield Strength
Cover
Bar Size
Min Reinforcement
Max Reinforcement
2.2 Node Cursor, Beam Cursor, Plate Cursor, Solid Cursor, Geomentry Cursor
2.3 Front View, Left View, Right view, Isometric view, back view
2.4 Create a Beam using Staad Pro software
After assigning the property to the beam
Then click on support tab to create a support
Select the simply supported option command
Then click O.K
2.5 Name of the project and location of the project
Structural Layout
Introduction to the construction methodology
Quality Assurance and quality control
Budget of the project
2.6 Multi material design is used for 3D model generation, analysis and Multi material design
It supports different material like concrete, steel , timber material in a separate member
The separate member will coordinate and the formed in to a structure
3.1 Truss
Space frame
Plane frame
Truss :
They are created in arranging the structural elements in the triangle forms which can take loads in tension and compression
Space Frame:
They are 3 dimensional truss like structures that is designed to carry loads for the longer spans without any intermediate supports. The space frame structures are rigid and light weight in nature and it is structurally effective and low cost
Plane Frames :
They are RCC or steel frame structures . They are 2 dimensional structure which is constructed with straight elements which are connected by the rigid or the hinged connection
3.2 The coordinate system are adopted in staad pro in X, Y and Z axis of co ordinate system.
There are 2 Axis :
Global Axis
Local Axis
3.3 The DBR ( Design Brief Report ) document which consist of various information regarding the construction of the structure. This DBR is a detailed report which tells the minute details of the ongoing construction work.It defines the final stage in the process of defining the Client's requirement for the construction work. This report basically consist of all the major and important structural details that is relevant or we can say that is related to the project like description of the client, site information, special requirements if any,the technical requirements, components required, the project requirements and the other issue related to the construction.
3.4 Linear elastic analysis, P – Delta analysis, Buckling analysis, Pushover analysis
FIXED CONDITION :
Fixed condition in the STAAD Pro software is the condition where all the degrees of freedom that is horizontal or vertical or moment are fixed or we can say these coditions are restrained we cannot change accordingly. Those condition we can say are the fixed conditions
FIXED BUT CONDITION :
And as for the fixed-end condition we can say that this condition can be customized its end conditions accordingly. In this condition we can change the end condition it is not restrained. We can release some of the required degree of freedom
PRACTICAL :
Open the STAAD pro software and create a New Model
In the geomentry tab, mark the Node points at distance of 16 m
Using Add beam command , create a beam b/w the two nodes
In the properties tab , define a material as Rectangle and size of 0.23 m x 0.23 m
In the Material tab , select the concrete option and click assign to view tab
In the support tab, create two supports fixed and roller support , assign at both nodes
At load case details , create a load @ Load case 1 and then add a concentrated load of -50 KN
Click on perform analysis, and select run analysis, After doing this click post processing analysis and mark the Shear force and bending moment diagrams
