The Most important things according to my basic knowledge is:

The battery pack is main heart of EV Power train system. the Thermal management of these batteries plays a vital role in obtaining optimum efficiency and performance.

Things to consider for energy efficiency:

Batteries that are comfartable with wide variety of temperature ranges like -20 to +100 is good for .

Active balancing is better way the passive balancing as energy is just transferred to others instead it is released as in case of latter.

Effective temperature maintenance is required using BMS.

Little power conversions like from ac to dc and again dc to ac conversion will increase the loss of energy in the form of heat so better efficiency less power conversions are the best.
