  • Question no.1
  • Ans - Given that there is 2 truss & to find out most efficiant gravity load carrying truss.
  • Out of two trusses truss A is Pratt truss & Truss B is Howe truss.
  • From this two types of truss both truss are efficient for carrying gravity load.
  • Pratt truss have their vertical members in compression & diagonal members in tension.
  • But in howe truss reverse is true as diagonal members in compression & vertical memebers in tension.
  • As they are similar in structures, their uses are generally same.
  • Depending on geometry & loading pratt truss have more unloaded membar.
  • So both trusses are used as vertical load application such as gravity load carrying efficient loading.
