Challenge

V-Block Assembly : Week 4 Challenge

  • The main body was divided into two parts i.e Lower Body and Upper Body. Each of them was made separately and then added using boolean ADD.
  • First, the Lower body was made by drawing its base sketch and then padded it.
  • Then on its top surface, an elongated hole was drawn and then used pocket command.
  • Then 'V' cut was made from the side view.
  • Now the upper body was made by drawing its sketch on the perpendicular plane to the lower body's base sketch plane.
  • Then padded it up with dimension = 50cm.
  • Now add them by using the boolean command.
  • Now two cylindrical holes were made.

U-Clamp: -

  • The front view sketch was made with the required dimensions and then padded.
  • Now Hole was made on the top face.
  • A helix sketch was drawn to make thread cut using helix command in Generative shape design workbench.
  • The profile was drawn on a normal plane to helix curve and then used slot command to sweep cut.

Fastener: -

  • The top cylinder was made first then on the bottom surface another cylinder was made.
  • Chamfered at the required positions.
  • Similar to the process in U-Clamp, a Helix sketch was made along with a profile sketch. Then used Rib command to sweep boss.

Assembly: -

  • The U-Clamp was first assembled with Body(fixed) by using Coincidence and surface contact constraints.
  • Then fastener was assembled by applying coincidence and offset constraints with U-Clamp.
