Usage of Collaborate tool in REVIT
1.
AIM:
To set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project.
PROCEDURE:
1) open the revit software and open the architectural template.
2) now open the manage tab of the ribbon and go to the coordinates option in the project location.
3) now select project coodrinates and in the choose specify coordinates at the point
4) now select either wall one by one

5) make north south east and west value of coordinates 0 and click ok

6) hence project shared coordinates are set.
2.AIM:
Open another new file but with a structural template. Using the manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model
PROCEDURE:
Open a new file with structural template
1) now go to the architectural tab and in the datum panel choose grid and draw the base grids as done in the architectural model

2) go to manage tab of the ribbon and select project coordinates and then set the shared coordinates same as the architectural model

3) make both east west north sourh coordinates 0

Hence project parameters are created in stractural model
3.AIM:
Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model (enabling simultaneous working on the model)
PROCEDURE:
1)Open the architectural model
2) go to the collborate tab of ribbon
3) choose collborate option
4)then select within your network

5) now, save the files as central model.

Hence the model is collaborated and is saved as central files.
4.
AIM:
To create the grids in longitudinal and transverse pattern for the project.
PROCEDURE:
1) go to architectural tab of the ribbon
2) select grids in the datum panel
3) then draw the longitudinal and transverse grids name it according

Hencd all grids have been created.
5.
AIM:
To synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central files of the architectural model.
PROCEDURE:
1)go to collaborate tab of the ribbon
2) choose the sychroinise with central option in the panel
3) then select synchronise and modify settings and then click ok

Hence it is synchronized.
6.AIM:
To open the stractural model and to use the collborate tools to save the model as central files
PROCEDURE:
1)Open the stractural model
2) now go to the collaborate tab of the ribbon
3)choose the collaborate option

hence it is collaborate now save the files as central files

hence saved as central files.
7.
AIM:
Under the Collaborate tab, select the grids and levels from the architectural model, and using Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model
PROCEDURE:
initally go to architectural model which is not the central model.

2) now open the stractural model and go to insert tab
3) in that choose revit link
4) or through manage links option in insert also we can add revit link

then the link that we choose will be inserted the architectural model link.

presently this link is just added this can be checked by going to visibility graphics
now we have to copy this elements to the stractural template
for this we have to copy this elements to the stractural template
for this go to collabrate tab of the ribbon and go to copy/monitor choose select link option
now select the link in the screen and then click copy and then multiple
now elect the grids both longitudinal and transverse
then click finesh provide at the bottom and after that again click finesh

hence the link is copied completely.
8.AIM:
Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new file as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural model. Under the manage tab, Click manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files.
PROCEDURE:
open the revit software
go to the new tab and open a new construction template

now go to collaborate tab to save central model

now go manage tab manage links add both architectural and stractural links

now both these links have been just added to construction model
now we have to coppy this model to this template
for this go to copy in the collaborate tab
choose select link to construction template
select the elements and click finesh

hence both the architrctural and structural template have been linked to construction template
9.
AIM:
to check wether the grids from the structural and architectural model matches in the construction template created

Here, it clesrly visible that the architectural and structural template matches throughly in the construction template created hence my challenge is set for project 2.
10.
List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously
1) construction model is combination of both architectural model and structural model
2) flow chart is given below as follow

3) architects
4) structural engineer
5) MEP engineer
6) HVAC engineer
