Understanding and implementing shell feature sketch blocks and Linear pattern in Solidworks
Title: Model Oil tank, Chain and pedal
Objective : Understanding and implementing shell feature sketch blocks and Linear pattern in Solidworks.
Solution:
1. Oil Tank
- Sketch on Top plane
- then give relation and dimension to fix sketch.
- Then extrude sketch
- Then draw sketch on Mid plane of extruded surface.
- then give relation and dimension to fix sketch.
- Extrude new sketch by using through all option.
- Then use Combine feature and select 2 extrude entites.
- Add fillet to edges.
- Then use Shell command to make oil tank hollow.
2. Chain
- Sketch on Midplane the path of chain.
- Add relation and dimensions.
- Sketch inner and outer plates
- make it a block so that we can use it again.
- And Save block.
- Then insert block on chain path
- and extrude it .
- then use Pattern curve Command >> Curve pattern.
- Select entites and pattern it on path
- Once the curve pattern is done
- use Mirror Command to mirror plates to another side.
- In this way we get total Chain assembly.
3. Pedal
- Sketch on front plane.
- Add relation and dimensions.
- Extrude sketch.
- Draw foot rest skecth on top plane
- Use revolve command.
- Then give Chamfer to end
- and use Dome feature.
- Create a sketch
- then use Linear Pattern feature.
- In this way we have design Pedal.
Conclusion.
In this way we have design
- Oil tank
- chain
- Pedal.
