Underbody Coating
UNDER BODY COATING :
- Under-body coating is nothing but the coating which was applied over the underbody of the vehicle. The coating is like rubber or spray to apply over the underbody surface. The coating was made to protect the surface from rust and the damages caused by the chips or stones from the road side while driving.
- The coating will has the thickness which will form under body surfaces. The underbody coating is also protecting the inner parts like frame rail, panel and the bodies ahead the underbody.
- The underbody coating is mainly coated for the vehicle's performance.
- In India we have different seasons which heave differenet disaster , for instance while driving in rain the mud will affect the body if we have not coated the vehicle's underbody. The same thing will happen even we have parked at our parking yard. The ari itself will start the corrsion process on the underbody surface which will reduce the life span of the body.
UNDER BODY COATING PURPOSE:
- The main purpose of applying the underbody coating is to improve the life of the body and inner panels.
- This will avaoid damages which was caused due to the stons and the chips or sands that will create impact while driving.
- Main purpose is resisting from the corrosion and improving the life. Absorbing the vibration and arrest the noise.
TYPES OF UNDER-BODY COATING :
- Rubberized undebody coating
This coating is based on the rubber particel which will create a texture over the body. This could be low cost only which will increase the life and withstand for upto 3-5 years.
2. Ashphalt atomotive underbody coating
This coating is best whe compared with the wax based and rubber based. Basically it was coated by spraying over the surface of the body.
3. Wax based underbody coating
This coating is based on the wax particle like polymers.
Pros :
It has good strength to fight with corrossion and the rust.
It will increase the life of the body parts.
It will protect the underbody and the inner parts of the underbody
It will acts as a agent to repell the three states solid , liquid and gas and it absorbs noise and vibrations
It acts as a reinforcement for the underbody.
Cons:
It will withstand only upto limited period
It increases the weight of the vehicle
somtimes it becomes expensive
