Underbody Coating

UNDER BODY COATING:

Under body coating is used to prevent the under body car components from rust and moisture. It can be sprayed to the components so it can also protect the physically unaccessible parts. It can also be used for sound insulaton.

TYPES OF UNDER BODY COATING:

1, Rubberized under body coating

It is one of the widely used under body coating. It gives more protection to underbody, protecting from the scratches. It was also easy ro apply.

2, Wax based under body coating

This type will not last long more than two months, but its most effective in fighting against moisture. and cost efficient among the others.

3, Asphalt based under body coating

This type will be used trucks and heavy vehicles. It gives more protection than rubber and covers wider area. applying this to the vehicle is little bit time consuming. It can also be used for sound insulation.

4, Polyurethane under body coating

This coating seal the cracks and fractures on the under body components. It gives good protection against corrosion and bonds with metal. unlike other coatings we can paint over the coated parts.

Advantages:

1, corrosion resistant

2, Adds reinforcement to the vehicle

3, Absorbs sound

4, Reduce tear and wear

Disadvantages:

1, It was not effective on used cars which already got rust

2, The rust removal was an expensive process.
