What is Under Body Coating?
It is the one of the process carried out in BIW structure. It is done for prevent the body from the corrosion and also it increase strength of the under body but it based on the thickness of coating given. Its cost is depend upon its thickness determined.
The above figure clearly indicate the coating steps carried out, it consist of four coat
- Electro Deposition coating.
- Primer surface.
- Base coat.
- Clear coat.
These are the coats commonly given in all the Automobiles.
Best under coating is Rubberised under body coating. Coating can be done every 3 to 4 years.
Now a days body are correction protection today so some of the current production cars are not under body coated so cost cutting can be done on that.
