Underbody Coating
The under-body coating is a hardened layer of protection that is painted under vehicle chassis against dirt and debris that may cause corrosion. This under body coating provides long term protection from corrosion. it protects parts like internal body panels, frame rails and other inner cavities that are exposed to moist weather conditions.
Types of under-body coating:-
-Rubberized underbody coating.
-Wax based undercoating.
-Asphalt based undercoating.
-Polyurethane underbody coating.
>Rubberized underbody coating is generally rubber component-based coating that protects from scratches stones etc.
> Wax-based undercoating only provided protection from moisture. It is the most affordable underbody coating. This is more or less ephemeral undercoating.
> Asphalt-based undercoating contains rubber and sound insulation material. It is a greater degree of protection as its mostly used for heavy vehicles.
> Polyurethane underbody coating is done on fractures and splits of the chasse as it bonds with the metal.
Pros of underbody coating ensure that water small stones do not enter the components and start rusting prematurely.
Cons of underbody coating are its high cost and while painting, harmful pollutants are realized in the surrounding area
