Underbody Coating
UnderBoady Coatings- Underbody coating is done to car BIW to improve paint quality, Corrosion resisitance properties of underbody sheet metal and all sheet metal parts. To improve Paint Quality. To protect sheet metal parts from dust, mud and moisture which can affect and can cause corosion. Corrosion kills sheet metal and hence cars needs to be protected.
Normal Automotive Process of Underbody Coating is
1) Cleaning of Body in white in Paint Shop- In this removing of dust particles, spot welding burrs, grinding dust, surface cleaning of parts. Corrosion resistance Layer.
2) ED Coating- Electrodeposition of anti corrosion layer.
3) Primer Application- Primer application is required to improve adhesion of paint on sheet metal body. It also improves smoothness of parts to improve final paint quality. Then Base coat is applied on car body.
4) Sealer Application- sealer application is done to prevent water leakages, filling gaps so that after baking there is no water leakage in vehicle.
5) Primer Application - Primer is done to improve adhesion between ED coat and top coat. Enhance paint quality.
6) Top Coat- Finally top coat is applied in two stages. Base coat and clear coat. it improves gloss on surface of car body and appearance.
Under body coating to protect car body from corrosion due to rain water, corrosion due to mud, dust, moisture.
1)Application of ED coating
2)Application of sealer material
3)Application of noise reducing material
4)Use of PVC material
5)Rust proofing and preventing water entering in car body.
