Aim:

To extract the middle surface of the component and mesh it as per the quality criteria provided.

Procedure:

Import both models into ansa topo tab.

Check for the topological errors through the checks manager-> geometry.

Select the errors and use the auto fix option to fix the errors.

In case of unfixed errors, go with the mannual fixing options in order to remove the errors such as overlapping faces, triple cons, unchecked faces,etc,.

Now go to faces-> middle-> select the surface and extract the middle surface.

use the lock option to save and control the view of as required.

The same operation can also be done by offsetting the plane mannualy using the offset optiion in the faces.

mannual offsetting is done face by face inorder to obtain a suitable mesh.

First measure the thickness of the component, as it is a plastic part, the entities have variable thickness, as shown below.

Now insert the quality cretria values in the quality crietria tab.

Go to mesh parameters and set in the values.

Now go to the mesh tab and select the component after selecting the length-> faces and assign the value as 1.

As 1 is the target element length, the surfaces gets tunned as per the mesh requirement.

use the best mesh option under mesh generation slot to obtain a better mesh.

the mesh is carried out in the face by face order.

in case of deviated mesh use the reconstruct option on the same slot to fine tune the mesh.

use the smooth option after every mesh operation inorder to obtain a fine mesh flow.

after the meshing is done, the property is assigned using the setPID option along with assigning the thickness.

Thus the given component is meshed as per the quality criteria provide, including the assignment of proerty and thickness to it.
